Daniel Fahr has been named the Young Professional of the Year for 2015 by the Water Environment Association of South Carolina (WEASC)—Blue Ridge/Foothills District. Fahr has been with the Greer Commission of Public Works (Greer CPW) since October 2013. He currently serves as a Wastewater Operator.
“It’s certainly an honor to be recognized, especially when so many bright people do a great job in our region,” Fahr said. “More than anything, I enjoy working with a team that both serves the Greer community and protects our environment.” Fahr works at the award-winning Maple Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. The Plant receives wastewater flows from the surrounding community and uses advanced methods to treat it—ultimately returning clean water to the South Tyger River.
Fahr also received a $750 scholarship with the recognition. He graduated from USC-Upstate in 2012 and is currently pursuing his Master of Science in Natural Resources Policy and Administration from the University of Florida.
Fahr was chosen from nominees throughout the WEASC—Blue Ridge/Foothills District. The district includes Anderson, Greenville, Oconee, Pickens, and Spartanburg Counties.
