GREER: Join us for a fun-filled, educational day at Lake Robinson while learning where Greer’s drinking water begins. The event on Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm is free for all ages and will feature educational exhibits, lunch, kayaking, inflatables, outdoor yoga, and much more. Lake Robinson’s address is: 2544 Mays Bridge Road, Greer SC 29651.

“Lake Robinson is not just a scenic, recreational asset for the Greer area—it is a vital source of drinking water for our community and beyond. It’s essential that customers understand how these bodies of water support not only public health through clean water supply, but also contribute to our local economy,” said Stephen Kennette, Water Filter Plant Manager at Greer CPW.

In addition to the fun activities, attendees are encouraged to bring food and household items for Greer Relief, an agency providing rent, utility, food, and household supply assistance to neighbors in need. Items on the wish list include: pasta, pasta sauce, canned fruit, canned beans, canned vegetables, peanut butter, toilet paper, laundry soap, body wash, dish soap, household cleaner, and toothpaste.

“Community events like Lake Robinson Day show how deeply connected we are as neighbors. Just as clean water is essential for life, so are the basic needs we provide every day—food, household supplies, and stability for families in crisis. We are grateful that CPW is being a good neighbor by encouraging attendees to bring donations that help us continue this mission. Every can of food, every household item, every small act of giving makes a big difference for the neighbors we serve,” said Caroline Robertson, Greer Relief Executive Director.

In addition to the activities listed above, there will be more than 25 exhibitors, tree giveaways, rain barrel workshop, and blood drive.  The rain barrel workshop is the only cost associated with the event and will be run through the Watershed Ecology Center. All food waste items will be composted to reduce the amount of trash going to the landfill – further solidifying our message we can all take steps to protect the environment.
