Starting January 28th, security deposits for residential customers will no longer be required to set up service with Greer CPW. The change was recently approved at the January Commissioner’s board meeting. Previous customers that paid a deposit will have a credit applied to their Greer CPW account by the end of March 2019.
In addition to the security deposit changes, the payment extension policy for Greer CPW customers will be phased out over the next year and a half for residential customers.
June 1st, 2018- May 31st, 2019 – 3 extensions allowed
June 1st, 2019 – May 31st, 2020 – 2 extensions allowed
June 1st, 2020 – December 31st, 2020 -1 extension allowed
January 1st, 2021 – extensions no longer available
“We made this change to do business more effectively with our customers & streamline the customer service experience. Our goal is to get customers in and out of the lobby in a timely manner and it made sense to remove the security deposit requirement and payment extensions from our customer care manual,” said Mike Richard, Greer CPW General Manager.
