What is FlexPay?
FlexPay is a new payment option for residential Greer CPW customers that provides more financial freedom-customers can manage their account, stretch their energy dollar and pay at their own pace. Long gone are the days of waiting 28-30 days and the end of the billing cycle to learn the amount of your utility bill. Application fees for new services will be applied towards the account balance as a FlexPay customer. There are no late fees and no due dates using FlexPay.
Who can sign up for FlexPay?
Residential electric customers with a Customer Service Portal can participate in FlexPay. You must be able to receive low balance notifications through text, email or phone call.
How do I sign up for FlexPay?
As of July 1, 2024 we are in the “limited enrollment” phase of FlexPay. We are currently accepting a limited number of interested customers to participate in the rollout of FlexPay. To sign up, please visit our website. By signing the form, it does not guarantee participation in FlexPay due to limited spots. In the event you are not chosen to participate, we will keep your contact information for first right of refusal when we allow more customers to participate.
Is a connection fee required to start FlexPay?
Connection fees to start services will be applied to your FlexPay account. For example, if the cost to begin services with us is $60 then the $60 will be applied to your account as a credit towards your utility usage.
How do I put more money on my account?
Traditional payments can be made using your Customer Service Portal and a credit/debit card or cash at our kiosks. You may also add funds through CheckOut where you use a customer specific barcode in PayGo to scan at the register. You can find CheckOut locations here. Customers on FlexPay are unable to use checks, ACH or money orders for their method of payment.
Is there a minimum amount I must pay on FlexPay?
Yes, the minimum account reload amount is initially set at $20. Your beginning FlexPay balance will reflect how many services Greer CPW provides and will service as the connection fee.
What happens if I run out of funds and my service is disconnected?
Your Customer Service Portal will allow you to receive notifications when you are several days from running out of funds or face disconnection. If you are disconnected using FlexPay, Greer CPW can reconnect your electric services electronically within an hour once we receive payment.
Will there be a nonpayment fee if my service is turned off?
Yes. There may be a nonpayment fee for water and natural gas because we have to dispatch a truck to your home in order to restore services. Once a customers balance hits $0, the electric service is disconnected and customers have 48 hours to pay the balance before additional services like water and gas are disconnected.
What if I forget to pay the bill for a day?
We recommend setting up an auto reload using a credit or debit card.
If I have an outstanding balance, can I participate in FlexPay?
Yes. For every $1 you put towards FlexPay, 50% goes towards the deferred balance and 50% goes towards the FlexPay program.
What are some environmental impacts to using FlexPay?
Customers can monitor and control their utility usage with FlexPay. By using less energy, you spend less money. Customers using FlexPay will not receive a paper bill which saves the environment and printing costs.
Do I have to participate in FlexPay?
No. FlexPay is an additional feature that may be convenient for some residential customers but not others. We continue to accept the traditional methods of paying your bill.
Can I opt out of FlexPay?
Yes, you can opt out 1 time during a 12-month period if you have a zero balance.
